ISTANBUL

Turkey’s BIST 100 stock exchange rose 418.03 points, or 0.39 percent, to open at 106,381.63 points on Thursday.

The banking and holding sectors increased by 0.36 and 0.47 percent respectively.

All sector indices rose, with the tourism sector seeing the biggest rise with 0.97 percent.

At the close on Wednesday, the BIST 100 gained 0.66 percent to reach 105,963.60 points with a 7.4 billion Turkish lira ($1.8 billion) trade volume.

The U.S. dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate went down to 3.9420 as of 9.30 a.m. local time (0630GMT) on Thursday, compared with Wednesday's close at 3.9570.

Meanwhile, the euro/lira rate rose to 4.6700 on Thursday morning, up from 4.6530 at Wednesday's close.

The Brent oil price rose to $63.14 per barrel on Thursday morning, up from $62.98 at the close of trade on the previous day.
