Turkey's Humanitarian Relief Foundation (IHH) is distributing aid to civilians in Syria’s besieged Eastern Ghouta district, a suburb of Damascus, according to an official on Friday.

The IHH delivers 30,000 loaves of bread and hot food to civilians in Eastern Ghouta daily.

Selim Tosun, the foundation's media adviser, told Anadolu Agency there have been food and medicine crises in Syria’s besieged Eastern Ghouta for the last five years. Also, people in Ghouta have struggled to survive under increasing number of airstrikes by the Assad regime.

Tosun said the IHH was delivering humanitarian aid in Eastern Ghouta. With the partnership of King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre, we established a bakery where we can produce 2,000 food meals and 30,000 loaves of bread, he added.
