Construction of a welcome center around 1,300 meters from the site in Sanliurfa had been completed and a pathway to help the disabled and elderly reach the site was under construction.
Restoration work is proceeding well at Gobeklitepe in southeastern Turkey, the site of the world’s oldest temple, stressing that no damage was being done to the surroundings.
Archeologists and cultural protection officials are taking part in the supervision work at the site.

Gobeklitepe is on the tentative list of UNESCO World Heritage Sites and is recognized as the oldest temple in the world by many international organizations.
During preparations for its candidacy, a 4,000-square-meter steel roof was erected to protect the site.
