Turkish parliamentarians will play "friendly match" with their Kenyan counterparts on April 17 in Nairobi.

Speaking to Anadolu Agency, the head of Parliamentary Sport Club Adem Tatli said Kenya's culture and sport minister had invited Turkish lawmakers to play a football match last year.

"We have completed our preparations this year […] we will go to Kenya on Monday," said Tatli, who is a former lawmaker from the ruling Justice and Development (AK) Party.

He also recalled that this year marks the 50th anniversary of the establishment of Turkish embassy in Kenya.

"Our embassy was opened one year after the foundation of Kenya. We will play this match with Kenyan lawmakers to mark the anniversaries."

The match will be held in the football field of Parklands Sport Club in the capital Nairobi.
