BAKU, Azerbaijan

Director generals of Anadolu Agency and broadcaster TRT, Senol Kazanci and Ibrahim Eren respectively, on Thursday met Azerbaijan Press Council Chairman Aflatun Amashov in capital Baku.

Kazanci praised the relations between Turkey and Azerbaijan and underlined that they, as Anadolu Agency, are in close cooperation with media organizations in Azerbaijan.

Regarding the occupied Karabakh conflict, he said: "Occupied Karabakh is eternally Azerbaijan's territory...I hope the issue is resolved in a short period of time."

Azerbaijan and Armenia remain in dispute over the occupied Karabakh region. Karabakh broke away from Azerbaijan in 1991 with Armenian military support, and a peace process has yet to be implemented.

Turkey reiterates that the dispute needs to be resolved within the framework of international law and Azerbaijan's sovereignty and territorial integrity.

Kazanci and Eren vowed to share their experiences and knowledge with Azerbaijan.

During the meeting, Eren said they give wide coverage to news and programs relevant to the Turkic world and Azerbaijan.

Amashov praised relations between the two countries and said: "Azerbaijanis want Turkey's terror-related problems to end at once... Turkey must be strong. The stronger Turkey is, the stronger the Turkic world is."

He thanked Anadolu Agency and TRT for portraying the right image of Azerbaijan to the Turkish public.
