Turkey: 2017 inflation rate expected at over 11 percent

ANKARA

Turkey's inflation rate for 2017 is expected to reach 11.73 percent, according to a panel of economists Tuesday.

A group of 20 experts gave the forecast to Anadolu Agency ahead of Wednesday’s announcement of the consumer price index for December 2017.

Among the economists' expectations, the highest inflation forecast for 2017 was 12.20 percent, while the lowest was 11.27 percent.

The economists also predicted that Turkey's inflation rate for December 2017 would increase by 0.51 percent.

The estimates from the experts interviewed by Anadolu Agency varied from 0.10 percent to 0.82 percent for the month.

The annual inflation rate in November was 12.98 percent, according to the Turkish Statistical Institute.
