Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC), the world's largest contract chipmaker, reported September revenue of 511.86 billion new Taiwanese dollars ($16.03 billion) Thursday, up 54.6% from a year earlier.
Consolidated revenue declined 0.6% from August, according to the company's figures released on Thursday.
The September figures brought revenue for the July-September quarter to approximately $46.7 billion.
The slight monthly decline followed a sharp increase in August, when revenue rose 10.1% from July to about $16.12 billion. August sales were up 53.3% from a year earlier, according to TSMC's official monthly revenue data.
TSMC, which manufactures chips for companies including Nvidia and Apple, has benefited from growing investment in AI infrastructure and demand for the advanced processors used in data centers.
Its shares closed 1.35% lower in Taiwan ahead of the monthly revenue announcement.
The company is scheduled to release its full third-quarter financial results on Oct. 15, providing further details on profitability and its business outlook.
