MARDIN
One Turkish police officer was killed in the south-eastern province of Mardin on Wednesday when terrorists opened fire on a police car.
Speaking to the Anadolu Agency (AA), the Governor of Mardin, Turhan Ayvaz said that the terrorists opened fire on a police vehicle using long range rifles.
"One of our police officers was killed as a result of the attack. Three terrorists were involved in the attack in front of the Mardin State Hospital. A wide scale operation is under way to arrest the three terrorists," Ayvaz also said.
Police officer Cengiz Engizek was 37 years old.
