Turkey will play a "constructive" role in anti-ISlL coalition, said Turkish foreign minister on Friday in New York.
"Turkey has always played a constructive role in establishing peace and stability," Mevlut Cavusoglu told a press conference with his Finnish counterpart Erkki foTuomioja following a meeting of the 'Group of Friends of Mediation', a group of 48 member states founded in 2010 by Turkey and Finland to promote the use of mediation in the peaceful settlement of disputes.
He said ISIL was destabilizing the region, emphasizing the need for a comprehensive counterterrorism program.
Developments in Ukraine and South Sudan were also discussed at the meeting also attended by representatives of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development, the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe, and the African Union.
